Marc Hirner

Mr Hirner completed his Orthopaedic Training in 1999. This was followed by subspecialty training in arthroscopy, shoulder and knee reconstruction at the Orthopaedic and Arthritic Hospital in Toronto, Canada.

In addition to holding a Masters degree in medical science (Sports), Mr Hirner is a fellow of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association, South African College of Surgeons and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Mr Hirner has a public appointment at the Northland DHB where he is actively involved in Orthopaedic Registrar training and research. He also works in private practice at the Northland Orthopaedic Center and operates at Kensington private surgical hospital and the Northland Orthopaedic Center.

Mr Hirner specialises in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions of the knee and shoulder. This includes the treatment of all sports injuries and degenerative conditions of the shoulder and knee. He employs simple and complex arthroscopic (minimally invasive) techniques plus conventional reconstructive surgical techniques to manage these conditions.
