Primary Mental Health Nurse Credentialling Programme

The programme aims to enhance the competencies and confidence of primary health care nurses in their daily practice, especially when supporting individuals and whānau affected by common mental health and substance use issues.

We will also learn from each other, sharing stories and experiences from our diverse roles within primary care. Participants may include professionals from School Nursing, Iwi/Māori Health Organisations, Rongoa Māori Practitioners, Corrections, Practice Nursing, Sexual Health, and Community Nursing.

Wed 13th November 2024: Whānaungatanga & Program Overview (Whangārei)

Wed 4th December 2024: Engaging with Priority Populations (Kaitaia)

Wed 29th January 2025: Children, Youth and Older Person’s Mental Health (Kaikohe)

Wed 26th February 2025: Problematic Substance Use (Whangārei)

Wed 26th March 2025: FACT and Motivational Interviewing (Kaitaia)

Wed 23rd April 2025: Reflections (Kaikohe)

You must be able to attend Full Day session one Wednesday per month over 6 months rotating between Whangārei, Kaikohe and Kaitaia. Travel and accommodation allowance may be available please enquire.
