Brandon Orr-Walker

Currently the Clinical Head of Endocrinology and Diabetes at Middlemore, he has run a small private practice since 1999 based at the Mercy site.

He has been a member of the Osteoporosis New Zealand Board since 2001. Brandon has a research background at the University of Auckland (Professor Ian Reid’s group) and since moving to Middlemore Hospital in 2001 has headed their Endocrinology and Diabetes service.

He provides clinical leadership at Counties Manukau DHB’s "Lets Beat Diabetes" program, and is involved in national quality and guideline programs in diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Brandon is an Auckland-trained Endocrinologist who has been working at Middlemore Hospital since 2001 when he was recruited to set up an Endocrinology Service there.

He has extensive experience with a wide range of endocine disorders, and for several years (since 2005) has been offering clinical use of thyroid ultrasound in his rooms after becoming AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists) board accredited in 2004.
